Who I am

Hi I'm Brandon, a Senior Software Engineer and AWS Solutions Architect with 6+ years of experience spanning full-stack development, DevOps, platform engineering, and cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP. I hold professional certifications across AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform, and I'm a subject matter expert in cloud-native application development, infrastructure-as-code, and Generative AI.

In 2019 I made the daring decision to attend a 6-month intensive coding bootcamp rather than going to a traditional 4-year university. At the time it seemed like a crazy idea, but I knew that I was passionate about coding and knew that I could learn quickly if given the right instruction and environment. Fast forward to today, and I've been fortunate enough to work at some incredible companies ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 enterprises.

Today I focus on the kind of work that makes a measurable difference — disaster recovery migrations, data ingestion pipelines, security automation, and developer platforms for teams that need to ship with confidence. I care deeply about engineering culture: structured mentorship, enforcing best practices across organisations, and driving the kind of improvements that stick long after the project ends.

Key technical contributor to a multi-region disaster recovery migration, taking the application from a single AWS region to an active-standby architecture with zero-downtime cutover and no production incidents, using Route 53 DNS failover and cross-region RDS Aurora replication.
Built a serverless data ingestion pipeline centralising data from multiple third-party vendor APIs into a unified schema, processing approximately 1 TB of data per day across Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, and Athena.
Integrated AWS Bedrock Knowledge Bases to power natural-language customer search in an internal billing tool, ingesting ~32K events/month, with data pipelines pulling from Snowflake via reverse ETL into Aurora PostgreSQL and S3.
Designed and implemented an automated security triage system using GitHub Copilot Agentic Workflows spanning 40+ repositories — deduplicating GHAS and Wiz alerts, determining fix strategies, and opening PRs with agent-driven fixes automatically.

Delivered full-stack features on the Humu Nudges product — a React front-end backed by FastAPI Python services with a GraphQL API layer — consistently meeting sprint commitments in an agile/scrum environment.
